2022-23 Premier League: Week 20 – Crystal Palace vs Manchester United

Crystal Palace welcome Manchester United to Selhurst Park in a rearranged Premier League encounter.

Victory will see Palace stay 12th in the table but move level on points with 11th-placed Aston Villa, whilst Man Utd can go second with a win.

Jpachim Andersen is unlikely to feature for Palace due to a calf injury.

James McArthur (groin) and Nathan Ferguson (foot) both remain absent.

Man Utd could rest Marcus Rashford after he suffered a knock during their victory against Manchester City at the weekend.

Anthony Martial (knock) is another doubt but on-loan goalkeeper, Jack Butland is ineligible to face his parent club.

Diogo Dalot (hamstring), Axel Tuanzebe (unspecified), Donny van de Beek (knee), Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood (both personal) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Crystal Palace host Man Utd at Selhurst Park on Wednesday 18 January, with kick-off confirmed for 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports.

Prediction

Palace enter this game off the back of a frustrating defeat at Chelsea which extended their losing start in 2023 to three matches, which means that they will be eager to find a way to halt their momentum loss and build upon the positives of their display at Chelsea.

Man Utd though will be difficult competition to stop given their imperious form since returning from the World Cup break, although they were wasteful in the Manchester derby until they benefitted from a bit of VAR and lucky improvement in their end product to snatch the win.

Utd though have a difficult trip to Arsenal coming up on Sunday so I do expect squad rotation here which will give Palace some hope if defend well, otherwise I can see Utd taking another win if can adapt to any tweaks and continue to find the net.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 0-2 Manchester United

Result: Crystal Palace 1-1 Manchester United
