2022-23 Premier League: Week 14 – Leeds vs Bournemouth

Leeds United welcome Bournemouth to Elland Road as both teams look to stay away from the relegation zone.

Victory could put Leeds up to 11th if Brentford lose elsewhere, whilst Bournemouth themselves could go 11th with a win.

Luis Sinisterra is ruled out for Leeds until after the World Cup with a foot injury.

Archie Gray (toe), Adam Forshaw (ankle) and Stuart Dallas (thigh) are still sidelined.

Bournemouth have no fresh injury concerns to report as Neto (hamstring), Lloyd Kelly (ankle) and David Brooks (fitness) remain absent.

Prediction

Following last weekend’s clinical away win at Liverpool where they took their chances well amidst some messy defending covered by fantastic saves by Illan Meslier, Leeds now need to take the positive morale boost and apply that at home where they can be quite dominant in their press.

Bournemouth meanwhile did a brilliant job of clinically counter-attacking Tottenham’s threat last weekend with two well-deserved goals, yet were let down by an imploding loss of defensive focus and poor marking which cost them victory so I do hope to see a strong response here.

Both teams therefore do have points to prove at Elland Road for contrasting reasons which sets up a tasty battle of two teams with leaky defences, so it could well come down to who has the better final touch on the day which I feel could be Leeds if home crowd get behind the players.

A draw though would be a fair result and a small step forward for both teams but Leeds’ attacking quality could well be the difference.

Prediction: Leeds 2-1 Bournemouth

Result: Leeds 4-3 Bournemouth
