Multinational banking company, Standard Chartered have extended their partnership with Liverpool until conclusion of 2026-27 season.
Standard Chartered first became a main sponsor of Liverpool in 2010 and has been on the Reds’ shirt en route to seven titles across all competitions across the last 12 years, during which four managers have been charge across that timespan.
This new contract extension will also see Standard Chartered become sponsor of Liverpool FC Women with an aim to increase participation in Women’s Football, as the Reds return to the Women’s Super League after a two-season absence.
Liverpool’s Chief Executive Officer, Billy Hogan has hailed this new extension as “a hugely significant partnership” for the Club, following their four-year extension with Standard Chartered whose current sponsorship deal was set to expire at end of 2022-23 season.
Hogan proceeded to explain the importance of the banking company’s support in recent seasons as he added: “We have been on an incredible journey together and Standard Chartered’s support has been a key driver in our most recent successes, both on and off the pitch, with their loyalty and commitment to Liverpool Football Club.
“Our partnership has been able to thrive because of our shared values and we look forward to continuing to work together to help and support our communities and supporters around the world.”
Group Chief Executive of Standard Chartered, Bill Winters added: “When we partnered with Liverpool FC in 2010 we could not have imagined the success of both the partnership and of the club.
“Liverpool FC has been a true partner and, as one of the world’s best-known football clubs, we are proud to be associated with them.
“We are delighted to be continuing our partnership for the next four years and look forward to building on our already successful relationship.”
Liverpool are currently on a pre-season tour covering Thailand, Singapore, Austria, Germany before concluding with a friendly against Strasbourg at Anfield on 31 July, ahead of their new season which gets underway on Saturday 6 August with a Premier League trip to Fulham.
