2021-22 Premier League: Week 31 – Brighton vs Norwich

Brighton & Hove Albion look to stop their slump in form as Graham Potter’s Seagulls welcome Norwich City to the AMEX Stadium.

Victory could see Brighton climb to 11th in the table, whereas Norwich would stay rock-bottom but move closer towards safety with a win.

Tariq Lamptey is a doubt for Brighton as he continues to recover from a viral illness suffered whilst on international duty for England Under-21s squad.

Alex Mac Allister (knee), Moises Caicedo (illness), Adam Lallana (hamstring) and Adam Webster (groin) are doubts.

Norwich could welcome Sam Byram back after he missed their last match through fatigue.

Christoph Zimmerman (eye) and Grant Hanley (Coronavirus) are available but Josh Sargent (ankle) plus Brandon Williams (unspecified) are doubts.

Ozan Kabak and Max Aarons (both hamstring) are unlikely to be available here whilst Andrew Omobamidele (back) and Adam Idah (knee) remain absent.

Prediction

With six consecutive defeats prior to the international break, Brighton definitely would of been relieved to have had two-and-a-half weeks to reset and sort out their defensive issues which has been their biggest weakness in the last two months.

Graham Potter however also should be worried about the lack of clinical finishing quality within his squad, especially after failing to convert any of 15 shots onto target last time out against Tottenham which worries me slightly although Brighton should still be safe at end of season.

Norwich meanwhile are in even worse form with just one point from their last seven league matches, although their biggest issue last time out at Leeds is that they started and finished aggressively yet went lacklustre mid-match whilst poor marking didn’t help their cause eventually.

On that note, I definitely want to see a strong reaction from both teams here across the pitch but if Norwich can maintain their aggression across 90 minutes, I can see them getting the edge if are clinical enough and their defence holds up otherwise this could be a cracker.

Prediction: Brighton 0-1 Norwich

Result: Brighton 0-0 Norwich
