2021-22 Premier League: Week 29 – Crystal Palace vs Manchester City

Crystal Palace welcome Manchester City to Selhurst Park in a huge Monday Night Football clash.

Victory could see Palace climb as high as ninth in the table, whereas a win would see Man City stay top but regain their six-point lead over Liverpool in the title race.

Joel Ward is set to return for Crystal Palace after recovering from a groin injury.

Nathan Ferguson (hamstring) and James McArthur (knock) remain absent.

Man City could be without Joao Cancelo after he missed training this week due to illness.

Cole Palmer (foot), Nathan Ake (knock) and Zack Steffen (back) could return but Ruben Dias (hamstring) and Benjamin Mendy (personal) remain absent.

Stat Attack

Prediction

Having delivered a superb energetic win last time out at Wolves especially in their movement when pressing, Palace will need to apply that quality once again but consistently and create clinical attacks because this is going to be a difficult game given their superior opposition.

Man City meanwhile were dominant in their league game despite getting caught out at times on the counter attack, yet struggled in midweek to create any quality chances in their goalless draw against Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League so I expect huge improvements here.

On that note, Palace probably need to be absolutely perfect in their gameplay like they were at the Etihad in October otherwise I can see just one result coming if City turn up and score first given their form at Selhurst Park.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 0-2 Manchester City

Result: Crystal Palace 0-0 Manchester City
