2021-22 Premier League: Week 12 – Wolves vs West Ham

Wolves welcome West Ham to Molineux in a tasty clash as both teams look to continue their chase for a place in Europe.

Wolves could climb to sixth with a win if results elsewhere swing in their favour, whereas West Ham can go second with victory due to Manchester City not playing until Sunday.

Marcal could return for Wolves if he passes a late fitness test on a calf injury.

Jonny, Pedro Neto (both knee), Yerson Mosquera and Hugo Bueno (both hamstring) remain ruled out.

West Ham expect to have Angelo Ogbonna available after the defender recovered from a head injury suffered during their 3-2 win over Liverpool last time out.

Pablo Fornals, Andriy Yarmolenko and Nikola Vlasic are also set to be in contention after recovering from knocks.

Declan Rice is available for selection after he recovered from illness which forced him to withdraw from the England squad.

Stat Attack

Prediction

Wolves will certainly be eager to deliver a reaction after harshly not snatching a point at Crystal Palace last time out, yet they simply weren’t clinical enough on the attack despite defending well throughout against Palace’s pace on the flanks.

West Ham meanwhile were absolutely clinical with strong aggressive pressing and defensive unity on and off the ball to stun Liverpool, although this is now a huge test of their title credentials because victory could well put them right in the mix and silence any doubters of their potential.

This match therefore should be a decent game because both teams will definitely be fancying a shot at the win, although I am going for an away win if West Ham can continue to build on their strong confidence and momentum and aggressively cause issues for Wolves’ defence.

Prediction: Wolves 1-2 West Ham

Result: Wolves 1-0 West Ham
