2021-22 Premier League: Week Four – Watford vs Wolves

Watford welcome Wolves to Vicarage Road as both teams look to bounce back from defeats last time out.

Victory could lift Watford into the top ten, whereas a win would see Wolves climb out of the relegation zone.

Dan Gosling is set to return for Watford after missing their defeat at Tottenham through illness just before the international break.

Joao Pedro (knee) is also set to return but Ben Foster (thigh) and Kiko Femenia (fitness) are ruled out.

Francisco Sierralta could be suspended after the club breached FIFA rules by refusing to release the player to Chile for this month’s internationals.

Wolves could be without Raul Jimenez after refusing to release the Mexican for this month’s internationals, consequently breaching FIFA rules in the process.

Jonny, Pedro Neto (both knee) and Hugo Bueno (hamstring) are ruled out.

Prediction

Having lost away to Brighton three weeks ago in a poor performance, Watford certainly bounced back last time out at Tottenham as they did little wrong with their counter-attacking and defending, yet were unlucky to not snatch a point but can take heart from that performance into this game.

Wolves though will pose a tough test because they do have the attacking creativity and defensive abilities to cause serious issues, yet their biggest issue so far this season has been finishing off chances which is something that they will want to correct quickly and get out of the relegation zone.

This match therefore promises to be one of interest given the confidence of both teams coming into this game despite poor results, although I am going for an away win because this feels like a game that Wolves must win for confidence sake and I can see them having the edge.

Prediction: Watford 0-1 Wolves

Result: Watford 0-2 Wolves
