Stockton Town will face Ossett United and City of Liverpool in their respective opening FA Cup and FA Trophy matches of 2021-22 season.
Having been awarded promotion in May, Stockton will start their FA Cup campaign in the Preliminary Round for the first time, instead of entering the competition at the Extra-Preliminary Round like they’ve previously done in recent seasons.
The Anchors have therefore been handed a home tie against new Northern Premier League – Division One East rivals, Ossett United to be played on Saturday 21 August at the Map Group UK Stadium, Stockton.
This clash is also set to mark the first-ever clash between the Anchors and Ossett unless they are drawn together in the Northern Premier League – Division One East beforehand, with fixtures still yet to be released at time of writing.
2021-22 season also sees Stockton make their bow in the FA Trophy, having previously participated in the FA Vase where they finished runners-up in 2017-18 to Thatcham Town.
They will enter the competition at the First Qualifying Round stage and have been drawn away to City of Liverpool FC on 25 September at Ellesmere Port, having previously met on Teesside in December 2017-18 FA Vase with the Anchors winning 1-0 en route to their historical first Wembley appearance.
Should the Anchors win their trip to Merseyside, their reward will be a home tie against Colne of Northern Premier League – Division One West a fortnight later on Saturday 9 October, which will mark the first meeting between both teams in all competitions.
Stockton though have avoided defeat in two previous meetings against teams in Northern Premier League – Division One West, – emerging victorious against Bootle and City of Liverpool FC in late 2017 in FA Vase albeit both games were played at home.
Further ticketing details will be announced in due course due to an ever-evolving Coronavirus pandemic., although the Anchors are set to host a free entry for all opening pre-season friendly against Guisborough Town at home tomorrow (10 July) with kick-off scheduled for 3pm BST at Map Group UK Stadium.
