2020-21 Premier League: Week 35 – Manchester United vs Leicester

Manchester United welcome Leicester to Old Trafford in the first of a Tuesday Night Football double-header.

Victory will see Man Utd cut their title deficit down to seven points as they seek to delay Manchester City’s title celebrations.

Leicester meanwhile will go third for at least 26 hours with a win.

Harry Maguire is ruled out for Man Utd after suffering an ankle injury in Sunday’s away win at Aston Villa.

Daniel James (unspecified), Phil Jones and Anthony Martial (both knee) remain absent.

Leicester could be without Jonny Evans after the defender aggravated a heel injury in warm-up ahead of Friday’s loss to Newcastle.

James Justin, Harvey Barnes (both knee) and Wes Morgan (back) remain absent.

Prediction

Having delivered a scrappy first half performance on Sunday in which sloppy play between Fred and Scott McTominay gave away the first goal, Man Utd delivered a sharp second half display to force Aston Villa into mistakes which they successfully punished.

Leicester meanwhile just played their defensive lines too high up the pitch which cost them against Newcastle, although they did show great spirit to keep trying and claimed two late goals which should give them confidence coming into this tricky contest.

Now if Brendan Rogers can get his Foxes to play a lower defensive line with Man Utd likely to rotate their squad for their second of three games in five days, I think Leicester could well have enough to cause a surprise result and almost seal a top four finish.

Prediction: Manchester United 1-2 Leicester

Result: Manchester United 1-2 Leicester
