2020-21 Premier League: Week 30 – Manchester United vs Brighton

Manchester United welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Old Trafford on Super Easter Sunday Night Football in Premier League.

Victory will see Man Utd take a big step towards second and move four points clear of third-placed Leicester.

Brighton meanwhile can climb as high as 13th for 24 hours ahead of Wolves, but only if Southampton and Burnley draw on Sunday lunchtime.

Marcus Rashford is set to be in contention for Man Utd after resuming training this week, having recovered from an ankle injury which forced him to withdraw from international duty for England.

Mason Greenwood, Juan Mata (both unspecified) and Anthony Martial (knee) could also feature if pass late fitness tests, but Phil Jones is still absent with a knee injury.

Brighton have no fresh injury concerns as Aaron Connolly is doubtful with a foot injury suffered on international duty for Republic of Ireland, having missed the Seagulls’ previous three games with a cracked rib.

Adam Webster (ankle), Tariq Lamptey (hamstring), Florian Andone and Solly March (both knee) remain absent.

Prediction

After a lethargically sluggish performance in their FA Cup Quarter-Final exit at Leicester in which their midfield were outran repeatedly, Man Utd will be hoping that the break has done them good because they need a strong improved performance to start their run-in.

Brighton meanwhile are still not safe but given that they recently enjoyed wins over Newcastle and Southampton with such dominance and creativity on the ball, I am hoping that they will bring more of their best quality into this match if want a win.

Graham Potter’s Seagulls should also be buoyed by Utd’s dip in home form on the defensive front, so I definitely can see goals here but they are yet to win a Premier League game at Old Trafford which is a worry but a draw should be achievable if can score first and defend well.

Prediction: Manchester United 2-1 Brighton

Result: Manchester United 2-1 Brighton
