2020-21 Premier League: Week 27 – Brighton vs Leicester

Brighton & Hove Albion welcome Leicester City to the AMEX Stadium in a huge Saturday Night Football clash at both ends of the Premier League table.

Victory for Brighton could move them up to 15th if Burnley fail to get a point on Saturday lunchtime, whereas Leicester can go second until early Sunday evening with a win.

Aaron Connolly is a doubt for Brighton after suffering a back issue in training.

Adam Webster (ankle), Tariq Lamptey (hamstring), Florian Andone and Solly March (both knee) remain ruled out.

Leicester could again be without Jonny Evans due to a calf injury for a second consecutive match

Harvey Barnes, James Justin, Ayoze Perez (all knee), Wes Morgan (back), James Maddison (hip) and Dennis Praet (hamstring) remain absent

Prediction

Brighton have shown excellent attacking quality in their last two matches but defensive errors and a lack of end product cost them on both occasions on top of woeful refereeing last weekend, meaning that there is work to do if they’re to get a result here.

Leicester meanwhile looked sluggish for most of Wednesday’s draw at Burnley with careless passing and tame defending, of which Kasper Schmeichel did well to make saves because their attack felt rather quiet which is uncharacteristic of Brendan Rogers’ Foxes.

Either way, I am expecting to see a scrappy contest here because both teams do have massive work to do to improve but if Brighton can sort out their finishing, I can see them having the edge across 90 minutes.

Prediction: Brighton 1-0 Leicester

Result: Brighton 1-2 Leicester
