2020-21 Premier League: Week 26 – Crystal Palace vs Manchester United

Crystal Palace welcome Manchester United to Selhurst Park in a huge midweek Premier League clash.

Victory could see Palace climb as high as 11th if Wolves lose at Manchester City on Tuesday evening, whereas Man Utd will cling onto second with a win.

Tyrick Mitchell is a doubt for Palace after suffering a knock in Sunday’s goalless draw against Fulham.

Nathaniel Clyne, James McArthur, Wilfried Zaha (all muscle), Jeffrey Schlupp (hamstring), Wayne Hennessey, Mamadou Sakho, Nathan Ferguson, Connor Wickham (all thigh) and James Tomkins (eye) however are all still absent.

Man Utd could welcome Edinson Cavani back after missing recent matches with a muscle injury.

Juan Mata (unspecified), Paul Pogba (muscle) and Phil Jones (knee) remain ruled out.

Prediction

Palace will be pleased with Sunday’s clean sheet in a closely fought contest against Fulham but they did make a cautious starts despite dominating in attack early on, because if they had been hungrier then they could of got the win.

Man Utd meanwhile weren’t at their best at Chelsea but they managed a goalless draw like Palace, with a lack of sharp attacking costing them the win although they weren’t dominant unlike the Eagles across at Selhurst Park.

This fixture though has belonged to United in the league and with Edinson Cavani set to return plus this representing a chance to quickly put Sunday’s difficulties behind them, I reckon that this will be an away win no matter how organised Palace are defensively nor recent improved form against these Red Devils.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 0-2 Manchester United

Result: Crystal Palace 0-0 Manchester United
