2020-21 FA Cup: Fifth Round – Swansea vs Manchester City

Swansea City welcome Manchester City to the Liberty Stadium in a mouth-watering Fifth Round encounter of 2020-21 FA Cup.

Swansea are bidding to reach a third Quarter Final in four seasons, whereas Man City are looking to reach the last eight for a fourth time in five seasons.

Deadline day signings, Morgan Whittaker and Kieron Freeman could make their Swansea debuts after being named as unused substitutes in Friday’s Championship win over Norwich.

Korey Smith (quad) is a doubt but Liam Cullen, Brandon Cooper (both ankle) and Wayne Routledge (calf) remain ruled out.

Man City have no fresh injury concerns to report after defeating Liverpool 4-1 on Sunday in the Premier League, as Sergio Aguero (fitness), Kevin De Bruyne (hamstring) and Nathan Ake (muscle) remain sidelined.

Prediction

With one defeat since December, Swansea definitely will fancy their chances of a cupset here but they will have to be at their absolute best, and take their chances like they did against Norwich on Friday otherwise this could be a tough evening.

Man City meanwhile were just ruthless at Liverpool when were able to get on the attack, particularly for their opener because Jurgen Klopp’s Reds just stood without any passion, so if Swansea can show defensive spirit then this could well be a difficult encounter.

I however can see Man City pulling through somehow despite likely making several players, although this will definitely be a closer contest than many think.

Prediction: Swansea City 1-2 Manchester City

Result: Swansea City 1-3 Manchester City
