Leeds United welcome Everton to Elland Road in a midweek Premier League clash.

Victory would see Leeds climb to tenth, whilst a win would send Everton fifth for at least a hour.

Rodrigo is ruled out for Leeds after suffering a groin injury in Sunday’s comeback win at Leicester.

Patrick Bamford (leg) and Raphinha (muscle) are doubts but Diego Llorente (muscle), Gaetano Berardi, Robin Koch (both knee), Ian Poveda (ankle) and Adam Forshaw (hip) are ruled out.

Everton could welcome Fabian Delph back after he recovered from a hamstring injury which sidelined him for several weeks.

Jordan Pickford (rib), Allan (thigh), Niels Nkounkou (hamstring) and Jean-Phillipe Gbamin (fitness) remain absent.

Prediction

Leeds were absolutely excellent against Leicester on Sunday because they dug in and caused real issues throughout the match, especially in terms of defending deeply and passing which proved crucial to their overall play.

Everton delivered a solid performance at the weekend but were simply outclassed by Newcastle who showed more passion and were able to take advantage of dodgy defending at full time, which mainly related to woeful man marking of Callum Wilson for his two goals.

Carlo Ancelotti’s Toffees however must swiftly put that performance behind them because this is going to be a tough test, and if it is anything like the reverse match at Goodison Park then we are in a cracker but Leeds look the more hungrier at present.

Prediction: Leeds 1-0 Everton

Result: Leeds 1-2 Everton
