2020-21 Premier League: Week 14 – Tottenham vs Leicester

Tottenham Hotspur welcome Leicester City to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a huge mid-afternoon Super Sunday clash from the Premier League.

Victory will see Tottenham stay second whereas Leicester themselves can leapfrog Spurs and go second with a win.

Gareth Bale could return Tottenham after illness kept the Welsh international out of their last two matches.

Japhet Tanganga (shoulder) and Erik Lamela (foot) are ruled out.

Leicester could welcome Timothy Castagne and Daniel Amartey back from respective hamstring and ankle injuries.

Jonny Evans is available after serving an one match ban but Ricardo Pereira and Caglar Soyuncu (both groin) won’t be risked until Boxing Day at earliest.

Stat Attack

Prediction

Tottenham will feel hard done by following Wednesday’s defeat at Liverpool because they produced a largely defensive first-half display before coming out and taking the game to the Reds in the second half, in which they produced a rare attacking display.

Leicester meanwhile dominated against Everton who brilliantly set themselves up on the sucker to defeat the Foxes, so I hope to see a more creative attacking display here because Tottenham are definitely a real danger on the defensive and counter-attack.

On that note, don’t expect a cracker but a tense cagey affair and I wouldn’t be surprised if its a second score draw in three matches for Spurs.

Prediction: Tottenham 1-1 Leicester

Result: Tottenham 0-2 Leicester
