2020-21 Premier League: Week 12 – Everton vs Chelsea

Everton welcome Chelsea to Goodison Park in front of 2000 fans in Saturday Night Football in the Premier League.

Depending on results earlier in weekend, Everton could climb to fifth with victory whilst Chelsea will temporarily go top with a win.

Seamus Coleman is set to return for Everton after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Robin Olsen (undisclosed) and James Rodriguez (knock) could also feature but Jean-Phillipe Gbamin (fitness), Lucas Digne (ankle) plus Fabian Delph (hamstring) are ruled out.

Chelsea remain without Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi due to hamstring injuries.

Prediction

Although Everton’s early season form has fallen away, they did produce a solid fightback to get a draw away at Burnley who really pushed them throughout even when the Toffees were on top and dominating the match.

Chelsea meanwhile made a slow start but were clinical with their chances although several shots ended up going begging, which is a worry coming into a match like this against Everton who will push any team hard and potentially pounce on chances that fall their way.

Throw in Everton’s recent strong form both overall and at home against Chelsea then a draw would be a decent bet but Frank Lampard rung the changes in midweek against Krasnodar, so I reckon they might just edge this encounter.

Prediction: Everton 1-2 Chelsea

Result: Everton 1-0 Chelsea
