2020-21 UEFA Champions League Group Stage: Olympiacos vs Manchester City

Olympiacos face a difficult test as they welcome Manchester City to the Karaiskakis Stadium in Group C of 2020-21 UEFA Champions League.

Victory could lift Olympiacos up to second whilst Man City will remain top with a win which would secure them a top two finish and qualify for the knockouts with just two Group C matches left.

Mathieu Valbuena is ruled out for Olympiacos with an unspecified fracture during training over the international break.

Bruma, Ruben Vinagre and Jose Holebas meanwhile are doubts with various knocks.

Youssef El-Arabi, Ahmed Mahgoub and Vasilis Sourlis are all sidelined after testing positive for Coronavirus.

Man City have no fresh injury concerns to report as Fernandinho (illness), Nathan Ake (hamstring) and Benjamin Mendy (unspecified) remain absent.

Stat Attack

Prediction

After a disappointing performance at the Etihad, Olympiacos have to step up their game and show more attacking intent against a dominant City team, who know how to control game and create loads of chances.

Pep Guardiola though will be expecting a sharper performance from his Citizens after producing a strong possessive effort at Tottenham on Saturday, yet lacked the clinical finishing touch to convert their shots on target into goal which is uncharacteristic of this City team who seem more comfortable in Europe than domestically.

Defending and adopting the correct tactics therefore will be crucial for Olympiacos if they want a result otherwise I can see City continuing their habit of dominating matches, although finding those goals will be crucial to avoid any risk of a goal rut.

Prediction: Olympiacos 0-2 Manchester City

Result: Olympiacos 0-1 Manchester City
