2020-21 Carabao Cup Round Four: Brighton vs Manchester United

Just days after meeting in a five goal Premier League thriller, Brighton & Hove Albion once again lock horns with Manchester United at the Amex Stadium in the 2020-21 Carabao Cup Fourth Round.

Brighton are looking to reach their first League Cup Quarter-Final since 1978-79 season, whereas Man Utd are looking to progress from this stage for the fourth time in last five seasons.

Brighton have no fresh injury concerns to report as Yves Bissouma serves the last of a three match ban.

Florian Andone, Jose Izquierdo (both knee) and Christian Walton (ankle) also remain absent from Graham Potter’s selection indefinitely.

Man Utd have no fresh injury concerns as Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones remain sidelined indefinitely with unspecified injuries, whilst Dean Henderson could start in goal for the Red Devils.

Prediction

Having already met here on Saturday in a controversial game, Brighton will certainly be looking for revenge on Man Utd for a crushing injury-time defeat despite briefly equalising during those final moments yet finishing was what ultimately cost them despite dominating the match.

Man Utd however will of learned from that game and even if Ole Gunnar-Solskjaer rings the changes, they should be capable of stepping up and taking this match to Brighton in a way that they didn’t on Saturday, especially in defence where they made most of their mistakes at the weekend yet have an instant shot at redemption in the back lines.

It therefore is difficult to see another scruffy thriller because both teams should have worked on their weaker aspects in the last few days but if Brighton can polish their finishing, I can see a surprise outcome here.

Prediction: Brighton 2-1 Manchester United

Result: Brighton 0-3 Manchester United
