2020-21 Premier League: Week Three – Brighton vs Manchester United

Brighton & Hove Albion look to make it three matches unbeaten in all competitions as they welcome Manchester United to the Amex Stadium.

A win for Brighton could put them as high as fourth whereas Man Utd are looking for their first league win of the campaign, which could see the Red Devils rise to sixth depending on margin of victory ahead of the weekend’s remaining nine matches.

Aaron Connolly and Tariq Lampety are expected to be available for Brighton after missing their midweek Carabao Cup win over Preston with a tight muscle and groin respectively.

Yves Bissouma (suspension) joins Christian Walton (ankle), Florian Andone and Jose Izquierdo (both knee) on sidelines.

Man Utd have no fresh injury concerns to report as Axel Tuanzebe remains a month away from returning to first-team action following an unspecified injury, whilst Phil Jones remains ruled out indefinitely.

Prediction

Brighton have bounced superbly since their opening weekend defeat with three wins in their last three across all competitions without conceding, although Man Utd will be tough opposition.

Speaking of United, they did really have to scrap for their midweek Carabao Cup win over Luton which is a marked improvement on their showing against Palace last Saturday in which the Eagles completely outran them up the flanks, in terms of not just pace but quality which is surely a worry.

I am therefore expecting a good match because Brighton seem to have found fresh impetus on the flanks and if they can produce another tricky performance from the get-go as Newcastle found out last weekend to their cost, I think that a home win could well be likely here.

Prediction: Brighton 2-1 Manchester United

Result: Brighton 2-3 Manchester United
