2019-20 UEFA Europa League: Round of 16 Second Leg – Wolves vs Olympiacos

Wolves welcome Olympiacos to Molineux knowing that victory will move them into the Europa League Quarter-Finals.

With this tie locked at 1-1 after the first leg, Wolves will progress with a win or goalless draw whereas Olympiacos need victory or at least a score draw higher than 1-1 to reach the Last Eight.

Wolves have no fresh injury concerns to report with a full squad available for selection by Nuno Espirito Santo.

Olympiacos have a near full squad available with Ruben Semedo suspended after being red-carded during the first leg in March.

Prediction

After Arsenal snatched the last qualification spot for European football next season by winning the FA Cup, Wolves simply have to win this campaign if want another season of battling Europe’s giants.

This game therefore is crucial in that they start on the front foot and given their home form this season, I expect a strong performance if they can produce a clinical display which was missing at Chelsea last time out.

Olympiacos however do boast the better European experience and knocked out Arsenal in the last round on English soil, so won’t be easy pushovers but I do think that Wolves will have  enough to defeat them if they turn up with the right gameplay.

Prediction: Wolves 2-1 Olympiacos

Result: Wolves 1-0 Olympiacos (Wolves win 2-1 on aggregate!!!)
