2019-20 Premier League: Week 36 – Burnley vs Wolves

Burnley welcome Wolves to Turf Moor in a huge clash as both teams look to push on in their bids to qualify for Europe next season.

A win for Burnley could send them eighth if Tottenham lose at Newcastle, whilst Wolves will retain sixth with victory and close the gap to fifth-placed Manchester United to a single point.

Burnley have no fresh injury concerns after Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Liverpool, as Ashley Barnes continues to struggle for fitness after hernia surgery pre-lockdown.

Matt Lowton (foot), Jack Cork (ankle), Ben Mee (thigh) and Ben Gibson (fitness) remain absent.

Wolves will be without Pedro Neto due to a muscular injury but Nuno Espirito Santo otherwise has a full squad available for selection.

Prediction

Burnley as ever are a solid team who can trouble teams who are having an off day as Liverpool found out on Saturday, which surely has to be a worry for Wolves after two defeats in their last three matches.

Wolves however were just dominant against Everton on Sunday but with top four still just about within touching distance, they simply need to come out and play the patient game because Burnley will be defensively well drilled to handle Wolves’ attack.

Do that without conceding then I can see an crucial away win but otherwise it will be another draw between these teams.

Prediction: Burnley 1-2 Wolves

Result: Burnley 1-1 Wolves
