2019-20 Premier League: Week 32 – Watford vs Southampton

Watford welcome Southampton to Vicarage Road in this weekend’s only Super Sunday clash.

A win for Watford could move them four points clear of the relegation zone whilst Southampton can climb above Newcastle with victory.

Watford have no fresh injury concerns with Isaac Success (Achilles), Gerard Deulofeu and Daryl Janmaat (both knee) still absent.

Southampton could be without Sofiane Boufal and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg due to respective thigh and ankle injuries, although the duo face late fitness tests.

Jack Stephens is suspended after being sent off against Arsenal on Thursday, joining Moussa Djenepo on the sidelines as the Malian international serves the last of a three match ban.

Prediction

Both teams come into this game off the back of defeats but Watford need to start finding that spark up front, because goals are what they need if want to stay up when now managed to solidfy at the back.

Southampton meanwhile just had an off day against Arsenal with silly mistakes, although I don’t think Stephens deserved to be sent off because he had actually got the ball first and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang simply clattered into him through no fault.

This therefore should be a good game if Southampton can rediscover their dominant spark, whilst Watford continue to grow on the attack so I am going for a draw here.

Prediction: Watford 1-1 Southampton

Result: Watford 1-3 Southampton
