2019-20 UEFA Europa League: Round of 16 First Leg – Olympiacos vs Wolves

Arsenal conquerors, Olympiacos face another tough English test as they welcome Wolves to the Karaiskakis Stadium in the opening leg of their Last 16 tie.

Olympiacos are looking to claim back-to-back English scalps but Wolves will pose a stern test as they look to continue their European adventure.

Bruno Gaspar is a doubt for Olympiacos with a hamstring injury, whilst goalkeeper, Bobby Allain is struggling with a calf injury.

Hillal Soudani remains out with a knee injury.

Wolves have no fresh injury concerns as Morgan Gibbs-White and Jonny Otto remain out with respective ankle and foot injuries.

Prediction

Wolves might be disappointed with Saturday’s draw against Brighton but I think it will stand them in good stead, because Olympiacos are cut from the same cloth in stubborn defending and will pose a huge challenge to break down.

Wolves will therefore need to get on the front foot quickly because Olympiacos like to play with pace and physicality, which almost hurt Arsenal in the last round here but taking place behind closed doors will be a factor this time round.

I therefore feel that Wolves need to withstand whatever Olympiacos throws at them, before picking them off later on for the win.

Prediction: Olympiacos 0-1 Wolves

Result: Olympiacos 1-1 Wolves
