2019-20 Premier League: Week 24 – Bournemouth vs Brighton

Bournemouth meet Brighton & Hove Albion in a midweek seaside clash at the Vitaly Stadium.

A win for Bournemouth can move them closer towards safety but won’t escape the relegation zone, due to Aston Villa facing Watford because both sit immediately above the Cherries and a couple of points clear.

Brighton meanwhile could climb to 13th with victory and results elsewhere going in their favour.

Steve Cook is suspended for Bournemouth after being sent off against Norwich at the weekend.

Jefferson Lerma and Lloyd Kelly both face late fitness tests on respective knee and thigh injuries.

Junior Stanislas (calf), Arnaut Danjuma (foot), Jack Stacey, Joshua King (both hamstring), Charlie Daniels, Chris Mepham (both knee) and David Brooks (ankle) are still ruled out.

Brighton have no fresh injury concerns to report as Jose Izquierdo nears a return from a knee injury, although he won’t be risked here.

Dan Burn (shoulder) and Leon Balogun (thigh) are ruled out.

Prediction

Bournemouth were just poor on Saturday across the pitch and unless they were saving something for this game, I really can’t see them getting anything once Brighton imposes their passing game.

I therefore think that the Cherries need to hope that the luck of recent home form against Brighton is shining down on them, because I just can’t see them getting anything here sadly as they just aren’t clinical enough.

Prediction: Bournemouth 0-1 Brighton

Result: Bournemouth 3-1 Brighton
