2019-20 Premier League: Week 14 – Leicester vs Everton

High flying Leicester City welcome a struggling Everton team to the King Power Stadium as the Toffees’ Marco Silva looks to keep his job amid speculation over his future.

Leicester can return to second place with at least a point, although victory will restore their eight point gap to league leaders – Liverpool.

Everton meanwhile can move away from the relegation zone with a win, although they would still remain in the bottom half of the table.

Jonny Evans will be available for Leicester despite being subbed with cramp last weekend at Brighton.

Matty James remains a long-term absentee with a calf injury.

Everton could welcome a host of faces back including; Morgan Schneiderlin, Theo Walcott and Richarlison who have all shaken off knocks.

Fabian Delph (thigh) and Bernard (knee) are also expected to feature but Jean-Phillipe Gbamin (tendon) is still a month away from match fitness.

Andre Gomes (ankle), Cuco Martina (knee) and Seamus Coleman (undisclosed) are ruled out.

Form

Leicester are currently on a five match winning streak with clean sheets in their last four, including 2-0 wins from their last three outings.

Everton have taken seven points from their last five league games (W2, D1, L2), although just four of their 14 overall points have come on the road this season (W1, D1, L4).

Prediction

Leicester last week proved that they’re serious title contenders because they were able to withstand a stern defence from Brighton, before eventually breaking them down which is what Everton will probably provide.

The Toffees however tend to play more down the wings than through the middle third, but I think Ricardo and Ben Chilwell will be able to handle them and launch powerful counter attacks that rip their defence apart.

I therefore am going for a Foxes win but Everton have been a difficult team for Leicester to comfortably beat in recent seasons.

Prediction: Leicester 2-0 Everton

Result: Leicester 2-1 Everton
