After suffering opening weekend defeats against Liverpool and Arsenal respectively, Norwich City and Newcastle are both searching for their first points as they meet at Carrow Road.

Norwich could have Timm Klose available after the German missed the trip to Anfield with a hip injury.

Ibrahim Amadou could meanwhile make his Canaries debut after completing his first week of training, having joined too late to be considered for their opener last weekend.

Christoph Zimmerman (knee) is ruled out alongside Louis Thompson (muscle) and Alexander Tettey (calf).

Newcastle will hand Allan Saint-Maxim and Jonjo Shelvey late fitness tests as the pair battle respective thigh and knee injuries.

DeAndre Yedlin (groin), Andy Carroll (ankle) and Florian Lejeune (knee) are all ruled out alongside Christian Atsu (knee), Dwight Gayle (calf) and Jack Colback (groin).

Form

Norwich lost their opener 4-1 away to Liverpool, with Grant Hanley opening the scoring with an own goal and the Canaries ended up 4-0 down at half-time only for Teemu Pukki to put away a second half consolation goal.

Newcastle also suffered defeat but were beaten by just a single goal from Arsenal when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang flicked in the Gunners’ 58th minute winner from Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ cross.

Prediction

If either team can take one positive from last weekend, it is that they both produced attacking performances against difficult opposition and now is the perfect opportunity to kick on and get that first win.

I definitely can see both teams scoring here but given that Norwich look the more clinical, I am going for a home win.

Prediction: Norwich City 2-1 Newcastle United

Result: Norwich City 3-1 Newcastle United
