2018-19 Premier League: Week 37 – Bournemouth vs Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur can secure a top four Premier League finish with victory over Bournemouth at the Vitaly Stadium.

Three points here would guarantee Spurs at least fourth and Champions League football, whilst Bournemouth know that a win is key to keeping alive their hopes of an eleventh-placed finish.

Bournemouth could have five players back from injury this weekend, including Dan Gosling who was subbed early in second-half at Southampton with a calf injury.

Nathaniel Clyne (cramp), Adam Smith (knee), David Brooks (ankle) and Dominic Solanke (hamstring) are also available.

Andrew Surman (calf), Diego Rico (ankle) join Simon Francis, Charlie Daniels, Lewis Cook and Junior Stanislas on sidelines with latter four all nursing knee injuries.

Jan Vertonghen could sit this game out for Tottenham after suffering a head injury against Ajax in midweek.

Serge Aurier, Erik Lamela (both hamstring), Harry Kane (ankle) and Harry Winks (groin) are all sidelined for this match.

Form

Bournemouth enter this game with four points from their last five matches, of which those points all came away from Dean Court.

The Cherries are also struggling at home with just two points from their last five home matches, since recording back-to-back wins at end of January.

Tottenham have lost their last two matches in the past week by 1-0 results of which both came at home.

On the road, Spurs have lost each of their last five away league games and lost three of those by 2-1 results.

Prediction

With it all to do in Amsterdam on Wednesday, this is a must win for Tottenham so Bournemouth might of come at the right time because I can’t see much of a threat from the home team here.

A comfortable win therefore should await the away side if recent meetings are anything to go by.

Prediction: Bournemouth 0-2 Tottenham Hotspur

Jake predicts: Bournemouth 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur

Result: Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham Hotspur
