Tottenham Hotspur can take a huge step towards securing another top four finish as they welcome West Ham United to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Victory here coupled with defeats for Arsenal and Manchester United would see Spurs guarantee their Champions League spot for next season.
West Ham meanwhile are aiming to finish the season strongly with a top ten finish as they aim to build momentum ahead of next season.
Team news
Tottenham will assess Harry Winks ahead of his possible return from a groin injury which has kept him out of their last four matches.
Moussa Sissoko is also struggling with a similar issue but won’t be risked here, although he is expected to be fit for next Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth.
Serge Aurier, Erik Lamela (both hamstring) and Harry Kane (ankle) all remain sidelined with no specified return dates.
West Ham could welcome a host of players back from injury for the short trip across London.
Samir Nasri (calf), Aaron Cresswell (knee) and Javier Hernandez (illness) are all expected to be available but Manuel Lanzini (muscle) is a doubt alongside Carlos Sanchez (knee) who is close to a first team return but it is unclear if he will be in the squad here.
Andy Carroll (ankle), Andriy Yarmolenko (Achilles) and Winston Reid (knee) are all long-term absentees, as
Form
Tottenham have taken ten points from their last nine games with all those coming at home, including three consecutive wins at their new stadium without conceding.
West Ham ended a three match losing run by clinching a 2-2 home draw with Leicester last time out, but are winless in their last four away games since drawing 1-1 at Crystal Palace in early February.
Stat Attack
- Tottenham have lost just one of their last five meetings with West Ham (W3, D1, L1).
- Both teams have scored in seven of last eight meetings at Tottenham’s home venue, with only exception being October 2013 when West Ham ran out 3-0 winners at White Hart Lane.
- Spurs’ last five league goals in this fixture have come from four different scorers with Harry Kane the only one to net twice.
- Lukasz Fabianski has made the most saves out of any Premier League goalkeeper so far this season, producing 133 saves.
- Tottenham have scored a league high 13 goals from outside the box this season.
Prediction
Tottenham have enjoyed the perfect start to life at their new home but West Ham are a decent side who will test Spurs’ defence with their agility when moving the ball.
I am therefore expecting an exciting game here with Tottenham just having the edge but conceding their first goal here.
Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 West Ham United
Jake predicts: Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 West Ham United
Result: Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 West Ham United
