2018-19 Premier League: Week 33 – Everton vs Arsenal

Everton welcome Arsenal to Goodison Park for a huge Super Sunday clash as both teams aim for European places next season via the Premier League qualifying spots.

Everton know that a win here will send them ninth and a point behind Leicester who currently occupies seventh after beating Huddersfield on Saturday.

Arsenal meanwhile can climb back into third with victory after Tottenham displaced them in midweek with a home win over Crystal Palace.

Everton have no fresh injury concerns as Yerry Mina remains sidelined with a thigh injury.

Arsenal will hand Laurent Koscielny (foot) Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey (both, groin) late fitness tests.

Rob Holding and Hector Bellerin are still sidelined with knee injuries alongside Danny Welbeck who is still recovering from an ankle injury picked up in November.

Lucas Torreira is serving the last of his three match ban here before returning next weekend.

Form

Everton have lost just once in their last five matches but have taken just seven points from their last five home games.

Arsenal have taken 16 points from their last six league games but have lost three of their last five away trips.

Prediction

This should be a fun game because both teams seem to have found some form and were dominant in their last outings.

I therefore can see an open end to end game here but if Arsenal start second half like Chelsea did a few weeks ago, this will be another Everton win.

Prediction: Everton 2-1 Arsenal

Jake predicts: Everton 2-3 Arsenal

Result: Everton 1-0 Arsenal
