2018-19 FA Cup: Quarter Finals – Swansea vs Manchester City

Swansea City will be hoping to produce a major cupset as they meet Manchester City at the Liberty Stadium in their FA Cup Quarter Final.

Team news

Swansea’s top scorer, Oli McBurnie is a doubt after missing their midweek defeat at West Brom through illness. The Scot however could make the bench if fit enough then come on as a sub.

Cameron Carter-Vickers is expected to be available if he shakes off a knock whilst Kyle Naughton is unlikely to feature as he battles an unclear groin/hamstring issue.

Joe Rodon (foot) and Leroy Fer (hamstring) are ruled out for the Swans but expected to be available in a fortnight’s time.

Manchester City will once again be without John Stones who is struggling to overcome a groin stain.

Fernandinho (groin), Kevin de Bruyne (hamstring), Vincent Kompany (muscle) and Benjamin Mendy (knee) are also sidelined until after the international break.

Claudio Bravo remains out for City with a ruptured Achilles Tendon.

Prediction

Swansea are going to have to play an unbelievable game to even take this to extra-time, if Man City’s recent cup performances are anything to go by.

In all honesty, I just cannot see past a Citizens’ win here because the gulf in quality is too wide for Swansea to stand any chance.

Prediction: Swansea City 0-3 Manchester City

Result: Swansea City 2-3 Manchester City
