2018-19 Premier League: Week 27 – Manchester United vs Liverpool

Super Sunday sees a blockbuster clash as two arch enemies collide at Old Trafford when Manchester United take on title chasing Liverpool.

Victory for the Reds will see them leapfrog Manchester City back to top, with the Citizens having played their match earlier this month.

United meanwhile can strengthen their grip on fourth with three points, regardless of what Arsenal do against Southampton.

Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial could return for Manchester United if pass late fitness tests for respective hamstring and groin injuries.

Matteo Darmian, Antonio Valencia and Marcos Rojo meanwhile are all one week away from potentially returning to the matchday squad.

Liverpool have no fresh injury concerns with Dejan Lovren one week away from returning from a thigh injury.

Joe Gomez (ankle) and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee) however are remain sidelined until after the international break.

Form

Man Utd are unbeaten in 12 of their last 13 matches across all competitions since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer arrived,  and kept three clean sheets from last five league games.

At home, United have avoided defeat in last 10 league games but are yet to keep a clean sheet at Old Trafford under Gunnar Solskjaer.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last six matches since crashing out of FA Cup at Wolves in early January.

They however kept just two clean sheets in their last five league games, which is same amount as in their previous five beforehand.

Stat Attack

Prediction

Man Utd were absolutely fantastic all over the pitch on Monday against Chelsea but Liverpool are a whole class higher.

The Reds will be well prepared after holding a in-form Bayern Munich in midweek and I fancy them to go and do same here, but be more entertaining.

Prediction: Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool

Jake predicts: Manchester United 2-0 Liverpool

Result: Manchester United 0-0 Liverpool
