2018-19 Premier League: Week Three – Monday

After a dramatic Bank Holiday weekend, the Premier League wraps up its latest round of action at Old Trafford as Manchester United meet Tottenham Hotspur in Monday Night Football.

With reports of tension amongst the Red Devils, can Spurs capitalise on their woes by adding salt to their already heated wounds?

Aleix Sanchez could be recalled by Manchester United after recovering from a groin injury which kept him out of the trip to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Nemanja Matic and Antonio Valencia are also expected to feature after also making recoveries from their injuries.

Tottenham meanwhile are still without Son Heung-Min, who is still on international duty with South Korea at 2018 Asian Games.

Victor Wanyama has resumed training following a knee injury but is not expected to be involved in the squad for this game.

Form

After winning their first game against Leicester City, Manchester United fell to a shock 3-2 defeat away at Brighton last time out.

Tottenham meanwhile have won two from two, scoring five goals across those games whilst conceding once in each as well.

Prediction

When Manchester United kicked off the season at home just over two weeks ago, they faced reports of tension between board and Jose Mourinho and went on to win 2-1.

Fast forward 16 days and they are again in a similar situation so I am expecting them to try and prove a point here.

Spurs however are a strong unit and Harry Kane has broken his August duck of not scoring, so expect them to provide United with a proper test of where they’re at minute.

Although both teams will score, I am backing Spurs to just edge this if the Red Devils are as defensively fragile as they were last weekend.

Prediction: Manchester United 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur

Jake predicts: Manchester United 1-3 Tottenham Hotspur

Result: Manchester United 0-3 Tottenham Hotspur
